It’s 100+ degrees in a drought in the Sacramento
Valley , and the only things blooming
in our yard are the oleanders—those hardy freeway plants that seem to thrive in almost any conditions. However, once cut and brought inside, the flowers quickly wilt. Must
be a metaphor in that somewhere.
