I gave a commercially prepared canvas three coats of gesso and unexpectedly ended up, once again, with a surface much too slick for my liking--so the paint slid around and felt like Vaseline. Oh well. It made for some extra floundering, but didn't totally defeat me as it has in the past. But never again. Today Don's primary input was getting the really hot colors into the light areas. Otherwise, it's pretty much mine..
I think this is great! I took a workshop with Don this summer. He knows how to knock one out of their comfort zone.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephanie! You must be one of Don's Maine students. Thanks for connecting. Isn't he the best? We are lucky to have him here almost every week.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Thank God Don has Janey or he'd be totally crazy. We all had a blast at his workshop here in Maine. I'll be following your blog.
